If the normal method of installation doesn't work for you,then please try this method-
1.  Install GioWhatsapp from this link
2. Take a backup using backup data option
3. Uninstall GioWhatsapp
4. Using a good file manager,navigate to sdcard/whatsapp and copy the contents in "giobackup" and paste it in sdcard/whatsapp/plus/dataapp folder(if the folder isn't present,then create a folder by that name).
5. In dataapp/databases folder remove all axolotl files
6. Now make a fresh install of WaPLUS provided here and restore backup.
